When I (Haley) was four years old, I used to sleep under the bleachers at Commonwealth Stadium. In my 23 years of being alive, I've only left three games (mostly due to raging sicknesses or lightning). Our family l-o-v-e-s UK football and more than that, we love tailgating. So, how did we celebrate our new line? By tailgating of course!
Ham & Swiss
We make ham and swiss sandwiches all the time. They're a crowd pleaser and take approximately 40 seconds to make. Seriously!
1 pack of 24 Kings Sweet Hawaiian rolls
One pack of deli ham
One pack of swiss cheese
Dijon mustard, to taste
Put it all together and you've got deliciousness. You're welcome.
Sausage Balls
My grandma makes sausage balls all the time for holidays, but I convinced her to share the recipe for our tailgates party.
2 cups Bisquick
1 lb hot sausage (hot is super important!)
8 oz cheez whiz (listen, you organic eaters, just get over it)
Brown mustard, to taste (we're big mustard people, apparently)
Literally all you do is throw it all in a bowl, mix it up, and spoon balls out on to a cookie sheet. Bake it at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes and you have yourself a crowd pleaser.
We just baked cupcakes with box mix from the store and we'll let you in on a few Lexington gems we had ordered in later!
What are some of your favorites?
Happy tailgating!
